Tozer's Wildfire™ rocket variety helps Bakkavor achieve first to market launch with new Tesco salad leaf product
After working closely with Bakkavor to create a hot wild rocket leaf with exceptional flavour, Tozer Seeds has successfully bred and developed Wildfire™ wild rocket which is now being sold by Bakkavor into Tesco stores.
Wildfire™ is yet another strong addition to Tozer's wild rocket series which includes Voyager, Discovery, Gourmet, Adventurer as well as the new red veined variety Dragon's Tongue™ - all of which were bred for flavour, slow bolting characteristics, and robust leaf for ease of processing.
As Tozer UK Sales Director, David Rogers said, "Wildfire™ is a tremendous variety and is the culmination of many years of work. Everyone at Tozer is very excited by the launch; we hope to be able to offer it in the USA and elsewhere next year."
The seed is exclusive to Bakkavor until June 2012 and will also available to home gardeners who would like to add some spice to their gardens via Unwins Gro-Sure range.
